Tourism as factor of socio-economic development and its innovation areas

Abstract

The study of the development of the tourism industry is an urgent problem, which is due to its social significance. Tourism is one of the most dynamic and profitable among all sectors of the world economy. The article describes tourism as a factor of socio-economic development, which promotes the strengthening and spread of economic, social, and culturalities. Characteristic signs of the emergence of innovations in tourism activity are distinguished, which are the growing needs of the population in acquaintance with the way of life in other regions and the acquisition of new knowledge, the overpowering of the population by many traditional travel destinations, the intensification of competition, the growth of proposals for standardized global products, and a harmonious combination of attractive conditions of rest and travel to fully meet the needs of the most demanding tourists in the transition from the economy of supply to the demand economy. The popular and new innovative tourism directions that at this stage are popular among tourists are listed, in particular recreational tourism, sports, consumer, adventure, nostalgic, green, ecological, rural, business, incentive, balneological, medical, religious, shopping tourism, photo tourism, and gastronomic tourism. Characteristics are given for each direction of tourism. The topical types of tourism that were determined to be in high demand in 2018 in Ukraine were cultural-cognitive, mountain, sports, ecological, and gastronomic. The problems with directions concerning the tourist attractiveness of Ukraine are identified, namely: unsatisfactory condition of roads in recreational zones, territorial availability of regions, information provision, means knowledge of a foreign language, inflated prices in recreational areas, and culture of service.
