The article is devoted to the study of the mechanism of economic security that is included in the system of economic security of enterprises. Emphasis is placed on the importance of the economic security mechanism role, which, along with en es and objects, is a key element of the enterprise’s economic security system. The aim of the study is to study the nature of the mechanism of economic security and to develop a conceptual model of its functioning for agricultural enterprises. The meaning of the terms "mechanism of ensuring economic security", "mechanism of managing economic security", and "mechanism of forming economic security" is investigated. The author’s vision of the content of the category "mechanism of economic security" is formulated. The author considers the mechanism of economic security as an integral part of the economic security system, which is a set of legislatively regulated methods, measures, ways, and levers that together ensure the implementation of the economic security strategy of the enterprise. The author’s interpretation of the conceptual model of the mechanism of economic security is offered. The purpose and objectives of the mechanism of economic security are formulated; its methods, tools, and levers are defined. The formation of the basis for functioning the economic security mechanism also involves the creation of regulatory, legal, financial, informative, analytical, technical, technological, personnel, organizational, scientific, and methodological support. The assessment of external and internal threats to the economic security of the enterprise is proposed to be carried out in the context of its functional components; in particular, it goes about the following components: financial, human resources, production, technological, political and legal, security of decision-making and information security, ecological, investment and innovative, social, marketing, resource-technical, energy, food, transport, and foreign economic.
