У статті здійснено аналіз сучасного стану й тенденцій розвитку молочного скотарства в Україні. Проаналізовано основні показники його розвитку та економічної ефективності виробництва продукції. За результатами досліджень виявлено, що однією з важливих проблем на ринку молока є низька його якість у господарствах населення, які виробляють 65,8% усього молока в державі. Зазначено, що кооперація господарств населення, організація сімейних ферм і переробників молочної сировини, з урахуванням досвіду розвинутих країн світу, вирішить проблему виробництва якісної молочної сировини і дасть можливість отримати прибутки. Розкрито поточні проблеми, з якими стикаються виробники молока – збільшення собівартості продукції, зменшення попиту на молочну продукцію, втрата даної продукції у зоні бойових дій і на окупованих територіях, проблеми з розрахунками зі сторони торговельних мереж, відсутність дієвого інструментарію кредитування молокопереробних підприємств на період війни. На підставі аналізу виокремлено основні чинники, які мають найвагоміший вплив на сучасний стан молочної галузі. Зазначено, що молочне тваринництво – це напрямок, якому проблематично розвиватися без державних дотацій, тому підтримка виробників молока є конче необхідною. Надано практичні рекомендації щодо підвищення ефективності виробництва молока за рахунок підвищення його якості, зокрема в господарствах населення й трансформації їх у сімейні фермерські господарства або кооперативи. Зроблено висновок, що запровадження дієвого механізму реалізації запропонованих заходів за умови державної підтримки молочної галузі та збільшення фінансування стане рушійною силою прискореного її розвитку. Практична значимість отриманих результатів полягає в тому, що авторські рекомендації можуть бути використані сільськогосподарськими підприємствами чи особистими господарствами населення у пересічній діяльності
